LINCOLN PARK TOWN INFORMATION
The area formerly known as Beavertown that was taken from a part of Pequannock Township was renamed Lincoln Park in 1871, in honor of Abraham Lincoln. It was incorporated by an Act of New Jersey State Legislature as the Borough of Lincoln Park on March 11, 1922, and reincorporated on February 26, 1925. Much of the land was developed by the draining of the Bog and Vly Meadows by the Bog and Vly Company in the Beaver Brook area, known so for the numerous beaver that inhabited the local waterways.
