New Jersey Pain Care Center Has Successfully Treated Many Patien
(by Jack McCabe - December 22, 2009)
What is pain? Pain is defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience that can be acute or chronic. Acute pain typically has a known cause, such as surgery, a broken bone, or an injury from a car accident. Chronic pain persists long after an injury, or has lasted longer than three to six months. Pain is also individual and can occur anywhere in a person's body. No two people experience pain the same way.
At New Jersey Pain Care Center, patients are treated with the utmost compassion and understanding. Because NJPCC’s philosophy is that chronic and acute pain is a unique human condition, patients are treated as individuals. An outstanding medical and administrative staff provides exceptional care to each and every patient.
State of the art equipment, traditional and non-traditional techniques as well as alternative medicines are used to treat many conditions relating to the spine, neck, shoulder, foot and ankle. NJPCC also provides non-surgical and surgical interventional pain treatment. Specialty trained physician, Dr. Amr Hosny, discusses and designs a treatment plan that best fits the need of the patient suffering from acute or chronic pain. The goal is to help the patient restore possible maximum function and manage that pain.
Amr Hosny, MD, MBA, currently serves as the Medical Director of New Jersey Pain Care Center, University Pain Center, as well as Chief and Program Director of Interventional Pain Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan - New York Medical College. Dr. Hosny’s training includes the completion of an Anesthesiology residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University, in New York City. He then completed an Interventional Pain Medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, in Boston, MA.
Dr. Hosny is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at New York Medical College, and is triple board certified in Interventional Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He has lectured extensively on topics ranging from spinal cord stimulation for neuropathic pain and complex regional pain syndrome, to pharmacological approaches for chronic pain. Dr. Hosny also serves as a written examination editor for the American Board of Anesthesiology.
